Check back in the fall

June 2, 2016

We flew home after stripping the boat.  All the sails and the dodger canvas were taken off and put down below with the barbecue and safety gear.  Both kayaks fit in the main salon and you can still walk through the boat.

We bought a used dehumidifier that will drain into the galley sink that drains directly outside.  Plus we left two fans running to move air around.  Frig and freezer have been whiped with white vinegar water and left open to air out.  Hopefully we won't come back to mildew and musty air.

We hired a woman who is the J World sailing instructor to keep an eye on Chez Nous and who will open it up once a week and make sure the bottom gets cleaned.   There is a list of things she will check including running the bow-thruster.   She'll also be on hurricane watch to check on lines,  add extras if needed and remove the boat cover.

It's nice knowing there is a competent person and friend at Paradise Marina so we don't have to worry about leaving her there for the Summer.   Our plan is to return in Oct. or Nov.

Perfection June 1, 2016

                    I will miss this.
Consistent sunshine, bay thermals in the teens every afternoon, always ocean breezes, 89 degrees F.  Showering and washing hair with a hose and not being cold.  Whistling ducks flying overhead before sunset.
